DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) A plan is proving to be more successful than any other in getting former Dallas inmates back on their feet. “Unlocking Doors” is run by an attorney and the first woman to chair the Texas Board of Criminal Justice, Christina Melton Crain. The program places former inmates in small apartments and provides help with any specific issues they suffer with like drug addiction and finding employment. Crain told WFAA only 1.6% of the program’s charges have returned to prison.
