ARLINGTON, Texas (WBAP/KLIF News) — A 21-year-old Grand Prairie man is living alone in his suddenly empty family home a month after his sister and both parents were killed by an accused drunk driver.
In an exclusive interview with WFAA Patrick Alphonso Beck, Jr. is still coming to grips with his terrible reality. Barely a month after the tragedy he says he wakes up each day thinking, “what if they walk in the door?”
Patrick’s dad and mom, Patrick Beck Sr. and Janet Beck, rushed out to help their daughter Leah when her car broke down the night of June 6. They parked behind her on I-20 in Arlington. Police say that’s when Jose Castro, 29, slammed into them, killing all three of the Becks. Castro is awaiting trial on three counts of intoxication manslaughter.
Patrick Jr. still struggles with the tragedy. He posted a video calling Castro a murderer and saying, “There’s no one who can replace my mom and my dad and my sister. They were my backbone.”
Now, Patrick is struggling to pay bills and deal with his loss supported, he says, by his fiancee, his church and the wonderful friends who check on him and lend their emotional support.
