Prominent McKinney Orthopedic Surgeon Charged with Sexual Assault

MCKINNEY  (WBAP/KLIF News) – McKinney police arrested Dr. Donald Okechukwu Ozumba Friday on two counts of sexual assault.

He was booked into the Collin County jail on a $50,000 bond and released on Sunday.

Investigators said two patients reported that Dr. Ozumba sexually assaulted them during visits at his office with OSSM Orthopedics, in the 8000 block of State Highway 121 in McKinney.

The first incident was reported on August 12, 2016. The woman told police Ozumba allegedly touched her inappropriately and rubbed her genitals for several minutes.

She said she when Ozumba left the room, she gave the nurse and excuse and left in the middle of her appointment in fear that she would be assaulted again.

Investigators said the second patient came forward on March 28, 2017. She told police Ozumba allegedly assaulted her after giving her an injection for a sports injury.

She accused Ozumba of telling her that he needed to rub in the injection and he allegedly digitally penetrated her several times. The woman also claimed after the incident, Ozumba texted her and asked what her favorite part of the exam was.

After the incident, the woman contacted another doctor to see if Ozumba’s actions were a normal part of the treatment she underwent. She told police that doctor told her they were not.

Dr. Ozumba has denied the allegations.
