DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Uber’s “Jump” e-bikes hit the streets of Dallas Tuesday morning, giving North Texans another way to get around town without having to drive.
The bright red bikes are similar to electric scooters and are activated through an app by scanning a Q-R code.
The bike’s are equipped with motors to help cyclists keep their speed up without having to pedal as hard. 
Residents, who had to deal with the sudden overflow of the now less present Lime Bikes, seemed mixed on the idea.
“I guess because I don’t walk around downtown so it doesn’t bother me. Now, for the individuals who live down here or walk around down here…it might bother them,” said one man.
“I hope they’re not on the streets like the other ones…because that was pretty bad,” said one woman.
A map on the Uber App shows bikes as far south as Bishop Arts to as far north as Lower Greenvile.
They’re free to ride until February 4th.
