Plano (WBAP/KLIF) A public hearing will be held July 25th regarding a proposal to add a fourth lane in each direction along the Sam Rayburn Tollway from Business 121 (West) to U.S. Highway 75. The 26 mile project will affect the cities of Allen, Carrollton, Coppell, Fairview, Frisco, Lewisville, McKinney, Plano and The Colony. According to a news release from the North Texas Tollway Authority, the improvements would be constructed entirely using existing operational right of way and no residential or commercial displacements will be necessary. The public hearing will be held at Taylor Elementary School, 9865 Gillespie Drive, Plano, TX 75025. Displays will be available for viewing at 6:30 p.m. with the formal hearing starting at 7:00 p.m. Construction is expected to begin in mid-2018 and should be completed in 2021.
