Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – Amazon dot com announced Friday it is buying Austin based Whole Foods Market. It’s paying $13.7 billion, which makes it Amazon’s largest acquisition, ever. The companies expect the deal to be approved by their shareholders, and finalized in the second half of this year. Amazon would have to pay Whole Foods $400 million if the deal falls apart. Amazon says it will keep the Whole Foods brand name, its Austin headquarters, and its C.E.O.
