LEWISVILLE (WBAP/KLIF News) — A three-alarm fire caused some heavy damage at some Lewisville town homes early Thursday morning, displacing about a dozen residents.
The fire broke out just before 3:00 in the morning at the town homes on Summercreek Drive and spread to three different homes by the times crews arrived.
“We’re going to have probably two or three units that are a total loss,” said Mark McNeal of the Lewisville Fire Department. “One building is probably completely trashed, but they were able to stop it within some of the living quarters. But the roof sustained heavy damage.”
He says five of the town homes in one larger unit were damaged in total, with smoke damage causing minor damage to residences in a neighboring unit.
None of the residents were injured, though one firefighter was transported due to smoke inhalation.
“We’ve accounted for all occupants at this point,” McNeal said. “Everybody was able to get out. Most had self-evacuated in the initial building, then our crews were able to get the rest of them out.”
The Red Cross is assisting those who have been displaced or affected by the fire.
