(WBAP/KLIF) – Tony Romo says Dak Prescott deserves to be the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.
In the announcement Tuesday, Romo says with football, you have to earn everything and you have to prove it.
“He’s earned the right to be our quarterback,” said Romo. “As hard as that is for me to say, he’s earned that right. He’s guided our team to an 8-and-1 record and that’s hard to do.”
Prescott has led the team to an 8-and-1 record while Romo has been sidelined.
The cowboys lead the NFL with that record.
Romo did not indicate what he plans to do with his future and did not take questions.
