DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas County is reporting a new record number of Brucellosis cases believed to have come from eating unpasteurized cheese from Mexico.
Dr. Christopher Perkins with the Dallas County Health Department says consumers should always be mindful of what they are eating.
“We have noticed recently that those citizens who have been diagnosed with Brucellosis have a common history of eating unpasteurized dairy products,” said Dr. Perkins. “Particularly, milk and cheese from cows, sheep and pigs.”
Usually, Dallas County only reports two to six cases a year. This year there are already 13 reports of imported cases.
