FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – Fort Worth police announced that there has been an arrest in the murder of a woman found dead in her apartment near the Texas Christian University campus earlier this month.

Officer Jimmy Pollozani said the United States Marshal Task Force arrested 23-year-old Reginald Kimbro, who is being held in the Mansfield Jail on a $500,000 bond.

22-year-old Molly Matheson was found strangled in the bathroom of her apartment on Waits Avenue near West Berry Street on April 10th.

At the time, investigators said there were no signs of forced entry but they did not reveal whether she knew her killer.

The family issued a statement to WFAA TV that read in part:

“We would like to thank the Fort Worth Police Department and all the detectives involved in Molly’s case. This has been an overwhelmingly trying time for our family and we a re confident that justice will be served for Molly.”

Matheson was an alumnus of Timber Creek High School in Keller.

Although she did not attend TCU, students on campus and nearby residents were on edge in the weeks following her murder.
