Student Cut in Throat at Brewer High School in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Brewer High School student has been arrested and another is in the hospital after he was cut in the throat Tuesday afternoon.

Fort Worth police said officers responded to the campus, which is located just east of West Loop 820, around 12:35 p.m after they got a call about a male student that had been cut.

They said the 16-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital in downtown Fort Worth in serious condition.

The White Settlement School District’s Desiree Coyle said the incident happened during lunch. In response, the campus was placed under temporary lock down and students were kept in their classrooms during the investigation.

Coyle said all students will be dismissed at regular times and counselors will be available today and tomorrow for students who witnessed the incident.

In a statement, the district said in part:

“Student safety is a top priority in White Settlement ISD, and school officials will continue to evaluate procedures and policies to ensure that our school environment is safe for our students and staff.”
