
McKinney, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A group of McKinney North High School parents and students are calling for the district to add metal detectors to all high school campuses.
The move came just hours after a sophomore shot himself to death in an empty classroom Friday afternoon.
Parent Mike Timmons told WFAA-TV, who created a Facebook page dedicated to the issue, along with his wife, said some may think it’s too soon to bring it up, but he added that it’s soon enough.
The Facebook group is called, McKinney Parents and Students for Metal Detectors
Soon after the page was created over 350 supporters had joined.
