Federal campaign-finance records add another complication to the story of the “Republican moms” featured in state Rep. James Talarico’s campaign video: Filings associated with a woman identified by Current Revolt as Mindy McClure show repeated contributions benefiting Democratic candidates and committees dating to 2018.
Current Revolt identified the woman as Mindy McClure of Colleyville, a former Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District trustee. The outlet posted records Wednesday showing contributions associated with McClure’s name and Colleyville address.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, McClure was one of two women in the video whose records show participation in the 2026 Democratic primary. The campaign introduced the three women as “Republican moms,” and an interviewer said they had been Republicans “for most of your voting lives.”
Contributions span eight years
Federal Election Commission records list a $100 contribution in July 2018 earmarked through ActBlue for Beto for Texas, O’Rourke’s U.S. Senate campaign.
The records also list $50 earmarked for Democratic Victory PAC in 2022 and three contributions totaling $150 for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in 2023.
In 2024, the filings list contributions to the Harris Victory Fund and Harris for President, as well as three completed contributions totaling $153.99 to The Lincoln Project. A separate $250 Lincoln Project entry carries a cancellation code and does not count as a completed contribution.
The 2025 records include $100 earmarked for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s federal account and $25 for VoteVets. They also list a $150 contribution to ActBlue itself.
McClure earmarked four $50 contributions through ActBlue for Talarico for Texas in March and May 2026, totaling $200. She also contributed $5 to ActBlue on March 14.
ActBlue processes contributions for Democratic candidates and organizations. Its filings can include both the transaction through ActBlue and a corresponding record from the ultimate recipient, so the entries should not automatically be added together as separate donations.
Record also includes Republican contribution
The federal records are not exclusively Democratic. They list a $260.73 contribution associated with McClure to former U.S. Rep. Will Hurd’s Republican presidential campaign in July 2023.
That contribution documents financial support for a Republican candidate under the same name and Colleyville address. The broader record nevertheless documents repeated financial support connected to Democratic candidates and organizations across eight years, including Talarico’s campaign months before the woman identified as McClure appeared in his “Republican moms” video.
Texas voters do not register by party. Primary participation establishes a party affiliation only for that calendar year, and contribution records do not establish a person’s party registration or reveal how that person voted in a general election.
Talarico’s campaign video did not identify the women, disclose their primary histories or mention their political contributions.
