COLLIN COUNTY, Texas — Costco is set to open two new stores in North Texas this week, further expanding its presence in the region.

The first store will open on Friday, March 14, at 5620 W. University Drive in Prosper, located at the corner of University Drive and FM 1385. Construction on the Prosper store began in March 2024.

On Saturday, March 15, another Costco location will open at 310 Center Point Road in Weatherford.

“Our expansion, both nationally and globally, is due to the enthusiastic acceptance by our members of our distinctive and unique model of retailing,” said Costco President and CEO Ron Vachris.

In addition to these openings, another Costco store is planned for Allen, located at the southeast corner of Stacy Road and State Highway 121, with an expected opening this summer.

Currently, Costco operates 903 warehouses worldwide, including 623 in the U.S., and approximately 40 in Texas. Around 20 of those Texas locations are in the North Texas area.

Costco’s membership-based warehouse clubs offer a wide range of products, including groceries, home goods, appliances, electronics, furniture, and more.
