A long time resident of Dallas, Monty attended North Garland High School. After school, he served in the United States Army (Infantry) between 1990 and 1993, including a stint in the Persian Gulf for Operation Desert Storm.

After his service, Monty attended Central Texas College in Killeen for two years and received his degree in RTVF (radio, television and film) from The University of North Texas in Denton (Magna Cum Laude). Monty has been in broadcasting for several years including radio jobs in Killeen and Gatesville, as well as some on air television work in the Killeen/Temple/Belton market.

Monty has been with WBAP since 1997 as a traffic reporter and fill-in host. Monty is also the PA voice for TCU’s Football and Men’s Basketball teams. Monty lives in Royse City with his wife Amy and their herd of dogs.
