Federal authorities have made an arrest in connection with the devastating Palisades Fire, which tore through the Palisades Highlands in January 2025, according to multiple law enforcement sources who spoke to NBC News.
The identity of the person taken into custody and the specific charges have not yet been released. However, sources familiar with the investigation told NBC News that the case may be tied to a young man who was previously the focus of the probe earlier this year.
Investigators had been examining whether the man was involved in setting off New Year’s fireworks in the same area just days before the blaze began.
