President Donald Trump, whose relationship with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., became frayed in the past month, responded favorably Friday night to Greene’s announcement that she will resign her House seat on Jan. 5.
ABC News posted on X that it spoke to Trump by phone about Greene’s resignation and he said, “I think it’s great news for the country. It’s great.”
Asked if she gave him advance notice of her decision, Trump said, “Nah, it doesn’t matter, you know, but I think it’s great. I think she should be happy.”
