Dallas Police Association Pulls Endorsement of City Councilman

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Police Association says for the first time it is pulling its endorsement of a Dallas City Council member.

The group says Lee Kleinman kicked them out of a meeting scheduled to discuss pay increases for police and firefighters.

“It showed that he did not support public safety at all and he was turning his back on us,” said Dallas Police Association President Ron Pinkston. “If somebody is not going to be there to support you and at least listen to you then we had to pull our endorsement.”

In a text to Kleinman, Pinkston told him to remove the association’s logo and endorsement from his website.

Kleinman did not return our phone call for comment.
