Vice Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris to Campaign in North Texas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Biden-Harris campaign will be in North Texas later this week ahead of the November 3 Presidential election.

Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris will visit the region on Friday, according to her campaign staff and Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.

“She will be coming in to North Texas and we’re glad to have her,” Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said on Monday. “You know Texas is a very competitive state for the Presidency this time. So we all need to get out and have our voices heard.”

The trip comes as new polls from UT Tyler and the Dallas Morning News show Biden leading President Trump by three points in Texas. Meanwhile, former Texas Governor Rick Perry said this week that Texas isn’t a battleground state and because of that, President Trump won’t visit the state before election day.

While Democratic leaders in Texas welcome the Senator, the sentiment isn’t the same on the other side of the aisle. Texas GOP Chairman Lt. Col. Allen West took to social media Monday with a message for Senator Harris. He said she is “unwelcome” in Texas.

The Biden-Harris campaign has not yet announced details about Friday’s trip to North Texas.
