DALLAS — The bodies of two soldiers killed in the attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan have returned to the United States this morning.
A dignified transfer of the remains of Isabella Gonzales, a Carrollton native and 2025 graduate of Hebron High School, and 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, according to a news release from Dover Air Force Base.
Gonzales and Feehan died Friday, July 17, while supporting a mission against Islamic State forces after the attack at the base in Jordan. The soldiers were killed by Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks, which marked the first troop deaths from direct Iranian fire since the opening days of the war, according to U.S. Central Command.
On Tuesday, the U.S. military confirmed a third service member killed in the attack was Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of New York. That confirmation brought the death toll to 18 U.S. service members killed since the war began.
